Operational Resilience

The ability of a financial institution to prevent, adapt to, respond to, recover from, and learn from operational disruptions. In the context of fund technology, operational resilience covers system availability, data backup, disaster recovery, and the ability to maintain critical operations during technology failures.

Context

FCA, APRA (CPS 230), and MAS all have operational resilience requirements for regulated entities. Self-hosted infrastructure with controlled dependencies can simplify operational resilience because the fund manager controls the entire technology stack.
