Operational Due Diligence (ODD)

The process by which institutional investors (LPs) evaluate a fund manager's operational infrastructure, governance, compliance, and risk management practices before making an allocation. ODD covers technology systems, data security, business continuity, key person dependencies, and regulatory compliance.

Context

85% of LP rejections cite operational concerns (CSC 2025). A fund manager's technology infrastructure is a core component of ODD assessment. Institutional LPs increasingly expect systematic deal analysis processes, audit trails, and data sovereignty controls.
